Q10 Does Journal of Biology have an impact factor and are its citations tracked?

A10 For any journal to have an impact factor, it must be evaluated by Thomson Scientific (ISI), accepted for citation tracking and then tracked for two years. Because Journal of Biology is rather new, it has not yet reached the stage of having an impact factor. Some citations of the journal's articles may be found in ISI's Web of Science, regardless of whether the journal is currently being indexed by Thomson Scientific (ISI), but some citations may be missed. Any article published in one of BioMed Central's journals carries with it a record of how frequently and where the article has been cited in other articles published in BioMed Central's journals - see, for example, the "cited by" link on http://www.biomedcentral.com/1471-2091/2/7/abstract.
